Leash Optional Areas in Victoria

Alexander Park

Where: Off Oregon Ave, between Bay and Walnut St.
Details: Dogs are allowed off-leash daily between 6am - 10am and 4pm - 10pm. The off-leash area is northwest (the Bay St side) of the pathway that cuts diagonally across the park. Dogs must be kept off the playground area.

Arbutus Park

Where: On the west side of Washington St, at the end of the street, overlooking the Gorge waterway.
Details: Dogs are allowed off-leash daily 6am - 10pm.

Banfield Park

Beacon Hill Park South of Dallas Road

Clover Point

Where: South of Dallas Rd, adjascent to Beacon Hill Park and the Dallas Rd leash-optional area.
Details: Dogs are permitted off-leash year round.

Gonzales Beach

Oswald Park

Where: Off Cedar Hill Rd between Gosworth Rd and Delatre St.
Details: Dogs are allowed off-leash daily from 6am - 10pm. The off-leash area is within the perimiter woodchip trail, on the west (Delatre St) side of the gravel pathway that cuts through the park. There is a parking lot off Cedar Hill Rd accross from the Kiwanis Pavillion.

Pemberton Park

Redfern Park

Where: Redfern St between Leighton Ave and Bourchier St.
Details: Dogs are permitted off-leash between 6am - 10am and 4pm - 10pm. The off-leash area is the north (Bourchier St) end of the park to the east of the pathway.

Songhees Hilltop

Where: The end of Saghalie Rd.
Details: Dogs are allowed off-leash between 6am and 10pm. The off-leash area is the grassy area encircled by the gravel pathway on the west side of the park.

Topaz Park

Where: Between Finlayson St and Topaz Ave, on the east side of Blanshard St.
Details: Off-leash dogs are permitted Mon-Fri between 6am - 10am and 4pm - 10pm and Sat-Sun between 6am - 8am and 5pm - 10pm. There are two off-leash areas within Topaz Park. The main off-leash area is Glasgow Field, which is adjascent to the parking lot at the end of Spruce St (off Quadra St). The alternate off-leash area is southeast corner of the park, near the corner of Topaz and Glasgow St. Dogs are not permitted in the playground area, lacrosse box, tennis courts, or the synthetic fields. Areas of Topaz park are sometimes closed due to community or sporting events, and in the winter due to muddy fields. At these times dogs are not permitted in those areas.

Vic West Park

Where: Wilson St across from Save On Foods
Details: Dogs are permitted off-leash daily from 6am - 10pm. The off-leash area is the partially fenced triangular area in the northeast corner of the park, closest to Save-On Foods.
