Akela - Adoption Pending!

Akela is a younger Belgian Shepherd Mix that was found 10 stories up on a construction site in February.

Akela is a funny girl that has been shy at first with new people but very sweet. She howls when she is happy, mid way through her meals and if you dance for her. We are not sure what else gets her singing yet but she’s a woo girl! She looks so much like a wolf, we are having a DNA test done to see if she has any in her.

Akela is mouthy when she plays but gentle. She likes to boop from behind to get either human or dog attention. She gets very excited when a human plays with her like a dog, probably because Akela just adores other dogs (even ones that bark at her) and would do best in a home with another dog. She has not reacted to seeing cats, so she will likely be ok with them as well.

Akela is a very clever girl and very eager to please but she is also a very sneaky power chewer so it would be wise to kennel train her so she is not destructive if home alone. She is highly food motivated and loves to work for snacks.

Akela is not house trained. She gets over simulated on walks and doesn’t think to go until she gets back unless she is with another dog to remind her. A home with a yard will make house training easier.

Akela is about 2 years old, spayed, microchipped, dewormed, has her distemper and rabies vaccines, and has been treated for fleas. Akela’s adoption fee is $600.00 and includes a dog licence.
