Cosmo

Cosmo was found stray and came to us in June. His brother Chance (also black and white and the same age) was found at the same location in early March. Chance was starving and injured. Chance was very comfortable with people, recovered quickly, and found a wonderful home in April. Cosmo on the other hand was still out for another 3 months and likely alone. Cosmo did not like to be touched when we first met him, he was underweight and his coat was in poor condition.

Cosmo is coming around nicely now but is a still a little jumpy. Astro (a young black & white cat) has been the game changer for Cosmo. Astro has given him confidence and a feeling of safety with his play and snuggles. Astro came to us at the beginning of July. Cosmo started coming out of his kennel right away wanting to play with him. Within hours, Cosmo started spending his time on the cat post and playing. Now, Cosmo is letting us pet him without cringing away. He even enjoys some brushing and melts a bit for a chin scratch. If we pet too much he gets nervous again but petting time is increasing and he enjoys it more each time. Cosmo is still protective of his food and needs to build up more trust in humans but things are moving forward now.

Cosmo will need some gentle care and will take a long time to settle into a new home. Another young cat would be a comfort to him.

We are looking for an indoor only home.

Cosmo is about a year old, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, has his first vaccines, and has been treated for fleas. Cosmo’s adoption fee is $350.00.
