Jasper - Special Needs
Jasper has been diagnosed with diabetes and has just started treatment. His other bloodwork results are good and we are optimistic with proper diabetes management he still has plenty of life to live and love to give. Jasper appears to be senior cat but he has been suffering from untreated diabetes, for who knows how long, so he may look to be older than he is. Since he is missing quite a few of his teeth he is definitely an older adult cat.
The price of admission to Jasper’s heart is a wee bit of cat nip. He started out frightened and wide eyed when we first met but turned into an instant cuddly mush once he discovered we had some cat nip. Jasper doesn’t even notice his injections as long as you keep petting him, so that part is easy.
Jasper is ok with other cats as long as they give him his space. They can sit near, just no touching. Although the cats here are new to him so that could be a factor. Possibly, with a life long cat friend he will be more open to their snuggles.
Once Jasper’s blood sugars are under control he could really benefit from a dental for his remaining teeth. If you open your home to Jasper, he will empty the bank account a bit but he will absolutely fill up your heart. Just look at that sweet face!
