Felix

Two senior cats were found abandon outside an apartment building in carriers on a hot day with no water. It was clear they were close friends and had lived together for some time. 5 days after arriving at the pound the younger of the two cats suffered from Saddle Thrombus. This is when a blood clot, usually due to congestive heart failure, causes a blockage which paralyzes their hind legs. It is extremely painful, treatment has a low success rate and it is likely to re-occur. Sadly, we had to let her go.

However Felix is still here and doing quite well despite losing his family. He is a very sweet affectionate cat who loves treats and rubs his face on everything. Felix is a neutered male about 14 years old and he is good with other cats. Felix is not currently showing any signs of a heath condition but he likely has age related issues. Felix needs blood work so that we can find out if he needs any treatment. If it is safe to do so he also needs a dental. The estimated cost with a dental is $800.00 to $1,500.00. It is a fair amount of money to spend on a senior cat so it is not covered by the pound.
