Other Statistics

  • Despite the common misconception, impounded animals are rarely euthanised. In 2014, 2% of animals had to be euthanised (4 dogs and 6 cats). Occasionally these animals are highly aggressive dogs. More commonly, they are animals who are found in critical distress (ie. have been hit by a car) and we are advised by a veterinarian that euthanasia is the most humane option for the animal.

  • Since 2004, more than 6,000 animals have come through our doors.
