Funky Chicken is a special little lady who steals the hearts of everyone that meets her! This sweet girl wants nothing more than to sit next to her people and be involved in whatever they have going on. She loves to be brushed and will drool big puddles when she is happy. She even has a playful side and will sometimes chase laser pointers or gently wrestle your hand. She will attempt the occasional love bite, but she is so slow and gentle she clearly means it as a game.
But Funky Chicken is a little funky. She has an unusual gait and will sometimes “glitch” throughout the day. This presents as jerky motions, scrunched facial muscles, or falling to one side. She has been to the vet and they have determined she most likely has something neurological causing her wobbles. She is not in any pain and is currently not on any medications.
Chicken can navigate most things on her own, but she still needs assistance with things such as; grooming, and getting on/off surfaces. Because of this, Chicken will need someone very specific to take her on. She will need a home with:
- no stairs (unless they can be blocked off)
- no other animals in the home
- a safe space to go when not supervised (this could be a mostly empty room, a play pen, a large dog crate, or something similar)
- someone who is home often (ie: retired or work from home)
- and ideally, someone with special needs experience
Chicken has had an unstable life so far, but she really deserves a safe, loving, and consistent home for her to thrive. We understand this can be a lot for someone to consider, but we are hoping the perfect person will give this amazing girl a chance at a happy home. She is truly a favorite here at the pound and we would love to see her find her forever family.
We are looking for an indoor only home.
Chicken is about 6 years old, spayed, de-wormed, has her up to date vaccines, and has been treated for fleas.
