Gilly has gained the title of having spent the most time here at the pound waiting to be adopted. Most cats who wait this long are cranky or considered "old", but Gilly is a young, healthy, sweetheart of a cat. She is probably the most playful cat in the pound, and definitely has the loudest purr.
The reason she has been waiting so long is that she is shy with new people. Once she has developed a bond with someone, she is very loving and loyal. She loves to be picked up and carried around almost as much as she loves to chase toy mice or lazer pointers.
When you first meet Gilly, she will put on a show of shyness and uncertainty. If you take her home and show her some love, patience, and breakfasts, she will fill your house with spunk, energy, and affection!
Gilly loves to be the alpha girl. She doesn't like any of the other cats that challenge her or get in her way and she has no problem putting them in their place. She would love a home of her own, but also tolerate living with another cat who is non-dominant and peaceful.
