Minerva

Breed: Domestic Long Hair

Colour: White and Black

Age: Approx. 2 years

Sex: Spayed by VACS

Minerva is fully grown, but she weighs in at only 5 pounds and looks more like a kitten than the adult that she is. She is a beautiful and quiet cat who will require a special home.

Mini was brought in to VACS in early October after being caught in an industrial yard. She behaved like a feral cat, but we saw a glimpse of domestic behaviour so she was put in our socialization tank in the middle of our office. This allowed Mini to get used to the way we sound, smell, and behave. At first she hid, but with persistent food motivation and sweet talking, Mini's sweet and cuddly personality won over and she decided to take a chance on us! On November 26 she made a brave breakthrough and finally rubbed her face on her caretaker's hand, and since then she has been doing really well. Mini has since been moved into her own room to allow another semi-feral a place in the office. She now loves to be pet by those she knows. She purrs a ton and often rolls on her back and kneads in the air when we are talking to her. She is not yet brave enough to come out and seek attention, but she clearly craves love and just needs a little more time and work. She is well on her way to being a loving pet.

Because she is still in the process of getting used to domestic life, Mini will be a project for the first couple of months. She will excel in a quieter home with a family who will be both patient and consistent. She should be set up in a quiet room where she can feel safe, but where she can have lots of visits from her new family. She will slowly bond with you and come out of her shell, but patience is key as pushing the process too fast will lead to a more timid Mini.

If you are interested in Mini please give us a call or come to the pound to meet her.
