Sadie

Sadie is an adorable, young, smart, and loving Catahoula Hound X.

She is an amazing snuggler and loves to lean and melt onto people to get lots of belly rubs. She’ll spoon and curl right up next to you and maybe join you under the blankets if she’s chilly. She’s happy to relax when appropriate; occasionally getting too lazy to get out of bed, even for a treat! But she has her playful and active side too. She seems to have scheduled zoomie time once in the morning and again in the early evening. This girl definitely inherited Catahoula skills. She is a jumper and a climber! She can clear a fence, or jump straight into your arms so she will need to be adequately contained and on leash, even in a fenced yard.

Sadie can experience a lot of anxiety while walking on a leash. She is easily spooked by loud noises or people she doesn’t know. She is slow to trust new people, but with the help of her trainer, she has gained a lot of confidence!

Sadie has spent the last month doing a board and train program. While there, she has made excellent progress in her obedience and reactivity. Sadie has completed “Intermediate Obedience Training” with a 91% grade on her report card! Her trainers have provided a full breakdown of her skills and areas for improvement, and they are willing to continue work with her when she moves on to her forever home.

She loves other animals and has done well with both dogs and cats. However, we are looking for a home without young children.

Someone active, experienced in training or willing to attend obedience classes, and knowledge of the needs of working breed dogs would be an ideal home for her.

Sadie is about 1 year old, spayed, microchipped, has her distemper and rabies vaccines, and has been treated for fleas. Sadie’s adoption fee is $600.00.
