Tug is an energetic young adult who is looking for a fun, active, and stable home.
Tug responds to most obedience commands and is house trained. He needs some help learning how to walk on a leash politely and he is a strong dog, but is very food motivated and learns quickly. Tug prefers women and is sometimes afraid strangers, but it only takes a little introduction build his trust and make friends. He is a sensitive dog and is responsive (barking) to suprises and people with unpredictable behaviour.
When Tug meets other dogs he is pretty excited about it and will need some work on his manners, but he would love to play with them. When charged by a small barking dog he did not react at all except to get out of the way!
Once Tug gets to know you, he is an affectionate and playful guy who is so much fun. He will make a great match for a dog experienced, active home.
TUG UPDATE! We have discovered that when Tug is walked with a harness instead of his collar, he is significantly better behaved and there is very little pulling. He is also much more calm and confident. It is really nice to walk him now that we have found the magic trick!
